Two northeast Missouri women went for a scary ride with their vehicle ending up in a creek.
It happened at about 12:15 p.m. Wednesday along South Baltimore Street in Kirksville.
Kirksville police said the SUV involved was driven by Dorothy Long, 81, of Atlanta, Missouri.
Investigators said witnesses told them Long's vehicle was northbound on Baltimore near Colton's Steakhouse when they saw it veer across the southbound lanes of Baltimore and continue off the road in the open field north of Diner 54.
The SUV came to rest on a creek bank.
Police said Long and her passenger, Eda Sterling, 78, also of Atlanta, were both transported by ambulance to Northeast Regional Medical Center for treatment of apparently minor injuries.
Investigators said they canâ??t say for sure what caused the crash, but they do say no other vehicles were involved.
