Teen arrested for having gun during Ottumwa fight
OTTUMWA, Iowa —
A teenager from Chicago is now charged following an Ottumwa altercation involving a gun late last week.
The Ottumwa Police Department announced on Tuesday that its officers and a deputy from the Wapello County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 200 block of West Maple street shortly after 6 p.m. last Friday for a report of a group of people fighting. One person reportedly had a gun.
An investigation was conducted at the scene, and officers were able to locate the handgun used during this incident.
It was found hidden under some leaves in the area. The police department said it received no reports of injuries stemming from this incident.
As a result of the investigation, Darielle Daquan Golden, age 18, of Chicago, Illinois was arrested and charged with Disorderly Conduct, a simple misdemeanor and Carrying Weapons, an aggravated misdemeanor.
