Teen killed in Randolph County crash

A one-car crash Tuesday left a northern Missouri teenager dead.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says Kayla Cooke, 19, of Higbee, Mo., was killed in the crash. It happened around 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in Randolph County.

Cooke was a passenger in a car driven by Dakota Redifer, 19, also of Higbee. Redifer suffered serious injuries and was taken by ambulance to a Columbia hospital.

Another passenger, Dylen Gordon, 19, of Moberly, received minor injuries and refused treatment at the scene.

The patrol says Redifer lost control of the vehicle and traveled off the right side of the roadway, striking a tree and overturning.

Cooke was pronounced dead at 11:06 a.m. Tuesday by Randolph County Coroner Gerald Luntsford.
