Two Cedar Rapids teens are facing felony charges after allegedly committing burglaries in Ottumwa.
Ottumwa police allege that Cedric Timothy Lang, 18, and Keanan Shawn Mercer, 18, went on a burglary spree last weekend
Police Chief Tom McAndrew said his office received several reports of burglaries which had occurred on the south side of Ottumwa in the early morning hours of May 30.
Several concerned citizens and burglary victims reported seeing two suspects and the vehicle they were driving.
Based on this information, officers were able to locate the two suspects.
Officers found nearly $2,000 worth of stolen property in their vehicle.
Both teens were charged with four counts of burglary, Class D felonies, and Theft 2nd degree (possession of stolen property), a Class D felony.
Online court records indicate that Lang has pleaded not guilty and been released on bond.
Mercer has pleaded not guilty, but as of Tuesday morning he had not posted his $9,000 bond.
