Tenco Industries receives maximum accreditation

Tenco Industries' accreditation has been extended for three years.

That is the maximum time allotted by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities International. Tenco Industries, Inc. serves nearly 200 people in Southeast Iowa with disabilities. The CARF International visitation team studied nearly a thousand standards that Tenco Industries provides.

â??Tenco is fortunate enough to get a three year accreditation,â?? Tenco Industriesâ?? Executive Director Benjamin Wright said. â??A lot of employees did a lot of hard work to get things up to a level that was acceptable to CARF and continue to maintain that quality.â??

Tenco provides employment to about 120 individuals with mental health issues and intellectual disabilities. Its mission is to provide opportunities for people with disabilities. It also develops and helps maintain independence in all areas of life. Next for the agency in 2015, Tenco will celebrate 50 years of service.
