Tenco Industries to turn Bridge View into a safari

Ottumwa's Bridge View Center will be transformed into a safari this Saturday as the first ever, Tenco Family Fun Day will take place.

There will be events for people of all ages, including mini golf, train rides and raffles.

The event is to help support Tenco Industries and the programs that they contribute to the community.

"The money that is raised at this event will be to basically enhance the programs they have, and help them just that much more head for a level of independence that they want," said Brenda Miller, Marketing and Development Director for Tenco.

The organization has offices in Ottumwa and Fairfield, both of which help people with disabilities gain valuable skills to enter the workforce.

"Tenco Industries works with people with disabilities and we work on trying to bring them to the maximum level of independence possible for that person. And whether that is them getting out into their own apartment someday, or whether that is them getting a job out in the community, they start right here with the training they need to learn the job skills that will take them as far as they can possibly go," said Miller.

All of the funds that are raised Saturday will go directly to programs within the organization.
