The Bloomfield community keeps patriotism alive

Sunday afternoon, The American Legion members gathered at the Legion Hall in Bloomfield for a public presentation. Guests lined the parking area as military veterans presented flags representing their services. Each flag was color coded resembling the military branch colors. Two American flags were also displayed at the site. Public Relations Officer, James Carlisle says, the dedication was a success and he hopes the monument serves a good purpose.

"We hope it's a teaching tool for children about Americanism, patriotism and a reminder to also those who have served in service and should be comfort of some kind to those who lost someone serving in our country," says Carlisle.

Immediately following the ceremony, a steak-fry was held at the site. Legion members and community guests attended.
