The Kirksville Community Orchestra performs a Winter Concert

Kirksville Community Orchestra's Winter Concert at The Life Church Auditorium, December 5, 2013.

Itâ??s about time for Christmas caroling and the familiar tunes of the season.

The Kirksville Community Orchestra is helping to get everyone in the spirit.

The string orchestra held its winter concert in the Life Church auditorium Thursday evening. The ensemble presented a few pieces by Mozart and they ended the night with holiday-themed compositions.

The orchestra welcomes musicians in 7th grade and older and there is no skill level requirement to join; however, all members must be able to read music.

â??We do invite the community to come to our rehearsals if they'd like or even to participate. We rehearse at the Kirksville High School every Thursday evening from 7 p.m. until 8:30 p.m.,â?? said Conductor Sandy Floyd.

The Kirksville Community Orchestra is supported by the Kirksville Arts Association and The Missouri Arts Council.
