With typically more foods from one food group than another, the Adair County Mobile Food Pantry may not be known for the healthiest distributions to date, but Saturdayâ??s pantry had a range of different food. There were frozen meats, salads, pasta and drinks.
The host site pastor, Charles Jackson, says he saw variety in today's packages and he feels good about the progress.
â??One of the things that they're able to get out of the food pantry today is several full meals. They have everything from their starches to their proteins, to their carbohydrates and their liquids and their drinks that they want. Weâ??re really excited that we can provide entire meals,â?? said Jackson.
The Adair County Mobile Food Pantry prepares over 10,000 pounds of food for distribution every month. Families are required to present proper identification for approval of distribution.
