There's still a lot do in Kirksville before Christmas

Kids participate in a Coloring Contest in Downtown Kirksville.

With Christmas only 11 days away, you can still expect a lot of family fun at the downtown square in Kirksville.

KTVO's cameras were there Saturday as the Kirksville Downtown Improvement Committee held a coloring contest.

Kids colored Christmas photos and could express their holiday creativity.

Although there was light turnout due to the snowy weather, the kids still had a great time and it's all leading up to the big Saturday before Christmas.

"I think it's going to be tremendous. We've got so much going on in the square...Christmas Caroling, announcement of winners and Santa here," said Kirksville Downtown Improvement Committee President Justin Tallman.

There will also be train rides on the courthouse lawn and the downtown window decorating contest.

It will all wrap up next Saturday with community christmas dinner at the Truman State University Student Union Building.
