The Edina Fire Department was quick to respond to a three alarm structure fire that threatened several homes Sunday afternoon.
Around 12:30 P.M. the home at 103 North Baker Street in Edina was engulfed in flames.
When firefighters arrived at the scene, the street was filled with smoke, and flames threatened nearby properties.
With the help of the Baring and Knox City Fire Departments, the fire was extinguished fairly quickly.
"Well we got her knocked down pretty fast, but yeah it was difficult to get in. There's a bathroom on the North side over on the front corner, and it has a very small window, trying to fight the fire through that was real tough until it burnt through the house and we were able to get through the side of the house that way," said Kelly Hayes, a firefighter with the Edina Fire Department.
No one was home at the time of the incident, but the structure is considered a total loss.
No cause is known at this time, but the State Fire Marshall's office will conduct an investigation into the incident.
