Three people are behind bars after thousands of dollars are stolen in ATM transactions and bad checks.
The arrests are the result of two separate investigations by the Ottumwa Police Department.
In the first investigation, authorities say they found that Summer Blythe, 27, of Ottumwa, made a number of fraudulent transactions totaling more than $10,000. Blythe is now charged with Second Degree Conspiracy to Commit Theft, a Class D Felony, Third Degree Conspiracy to Commit Theft, an Aggravated Misdemeanor, and On-Going Criminal Conduct, a Class B Felony.
Ottumwa Police say the investigation into the conspiracy involving Blythe is on-going and more arrests are expected.
During the course of OPDâ??s second investigation, officers identified a similar scheme, and arrested Olen Brown, 42, and Shawn Forney, 38, for Second Degree Conspiracy to Commit Theft, a Class D Felony, and On-Going Criminal Conduct, a Class B Felony.
Officers identified approximately 28 fraudulent transactions during the course of their investigation, totaling more than $2,500.
All three suspects are being held at the Wapello County Jail on $25,000 cash-only bond.
