Three file for Kirksville council, six file for school board
KIRKSVILLE, Mo. —
Filing for those wishing to run for a seat on Kirksville city council or school board is now closed.
In total, there are two open seats on city council.
Terms for both current Kirksville Mayor Jerry Mills and Rick Steele expire in April.
The two have filed in hopes of retaining their seats.
Mills was first elected to council in 2011.
He was then reelected in 2014.
Steele was first elected in 2014.
Kevin Alm has also filed.
He has run for city council numerous times in past years.
On the school board side of the race, 6 people are seeking three open seats.
Incumbent Nan Davis has filed in hopes of keeping her seat.
She has served on the board since 2014.
According to the Kirksville School District, Adam Moore, Jeremy Houser, Matthew Copeland, Tarasa Gardner and Kathy Hoppe have also filed.
The general municipal election will be held on April 4.
