Three more arrested in drug case

Three more people are now in custody in connection with the alleged sale of prescription drugs by a now-former resident of the Travelers Hotel Apartments in Downtown Kirksville.
Already charged was Nancy Wadel, 67, of Kirksville. She is charged with distributing a controlled substance near a school. She was released on her own recognizance on house arrest.
Wadel has since been evicted from her apartment.
Now in custody is her daughter Monica Wadel, 45, of Greentop. She is also charged with distributing a controlled substance near a school. She is being held in the Adair County Jail under a $100,000 cash only bond.
Two of the Wadel's alleged customers are also in custody, Brenda McIntyre, 52, and Reginald Newman, 47, both of Kirksville, are charged with felony possession of a controlled substance. They are being held in the Adair County Jail under $25,000 cash only bond each.
