Two Schuyler County residents are behind bars in connection with injuries sustained by a 2-year-old.
Christopher Jackson, 21, and Amber White, 21, both from Downing, are each charged with one count of first-degree endangering the welfare of a child.
According to court documents, the toddler received serious head injuries, a lacerated liver, a broken leg, along with numerous bites, bruises and abrasions over the body.
The victim was taken to a hospital in Columbia for treatment.
White is being held at the Adair County jail and Jackson in the Schuyler County jail.
Bond for both is set at $20,000, cash-only for each.
