Toolbox Ministries arrives to help rebuild Novinger

A high school group from Virginia is helping to rebuild a Heartland community.

The city of Novinger welcomed Toolbox Ministries from Gayton Baptist Church in Richmond who are staying in town this upcoming week to spruce up the town. Some of the home improvement projects include roofing, repainting, and putting in new windows.

Novinger is still trying to recover from past disasters like flooding and the May 13, 2009 tornado. Mayor Jeff Dodson says the community has welcomed the group with open arms.

We are tremendously excited to have Toolbox Ministries of Richmond, VA Gayton Baptist Church here. It is such an honor to host them in our city. We are so thankful for the ministry they are going to provide all through our community, taking care of people's homes, working on businesses, and different projects.

The Home Depot donated many supplies and materials for the projects.

The group is also doing a vacation bible school, a sports camp, and building a new school basketball court. One of the hoops will be in memory of a group member that recently passed away.

The city will hold a block party finale this Friday evening to celebrate the improvements.
