A tractor-trailer driver took a scary ride early Thursday morning.

He crashed his big rig on Highway 6 as he approached Hurdland, Missouri from the west.

Authorities at the scene told KTVO the driver had picked up a load in Kirksville and was headed east on Highway 6.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol said he lost control of the semi on the sharp curve just west of Hurdland.

The truck and trailer then overturned into the ditch on the right side of the roadway.

The driver was not hurt, and no other vehicles were involved.

Another tractor-trailer was brought to the scene so the load on the wrecked semi could be offloaded.

Crews then uprighted the overturned rig and towed it away.
