A bad headlight ends with one person in jail facing drug charges.
Brandon Ellis, 30, of St. Louis, is charged with possession of methamphetamine and a misdemeanor charge of unlawful use of drug paraphernalia.
According to court papers, Ellis was stopped by a Macon police officer because he had a headlight out. When the officer checked for warrants, he found a Macon City warrant for peace disturbance.
Ellis then gave the officer permission to search his vehicle. When a drug dog was called to the scene, he hit on the center console of the vehicle, where officers found a syringe with liquid residue that tested positive for meth.
Ellis then consented to a drug test, which came back positive for meth, THC, oxycodone and benzodiazepines.
Ellis is being held in the Macon County Jail under $9,000 cash only bond.
