Traffic stop leads to attempted murder charge

An Ottumwa man is in jail tonight for attempted murder.
Ottumwa Police stopped a car in the 1900 block of East Main St. just after 3 a.m. this morning. When talking to the driver, the officer learned the passenger was suffering from multiple stab wounds from an incident that occurred at the Royal Rest Motel in Ottumwa.
The victim was taken to Ottumwa Regional Health Center, during the initial investigation; the suspect in the event was identified as Clint Michael Loveall, 34.
Loveall was arrested around noon Friday and charged with attempt to commit murder, a class "B" felony, and he's currently being held in the Wapello County Jail on a $25,000 bond.

On April 5th, 2013, at approximately 3:10 A.M., an Ottumwa Police Officer stopped a vehicle in the 1900 block of E. Main Street in Ottumwa. Upon making contact with the driver of the vehicle, the officer learned a passenger in the vehicle was suffering from multiple stab wounds. The officer further learned the stabbing was reported to have occurred at The Royal Rest Motel located at 2211 Roemer Avenue in Ottumwa. The victim of the stabbing was subsequently transported to the Ottumwa Regional Health Center for treatment of his injuries.
Based on the initial investigation, a suspect was identified and subsequently arrested on April 5th, 2013, at approximately 12:00 P.M. The suspect has been identified as 34 year-old Clint Michael Loveall of Ottumwa. Loveall was charged with Attempt to Commit Murder, a class â??Bâ?? felony, and was transported to the Wapello County Jail. He is currently being held on a $25,000.00 bond.
