TrafFix Devices expands Fairfield warehouse
FAIRFIELD, Iowa —
A Fairfield manufacturer is growing in size and in the number of jobs.
TrafFix Devices, Incorporated, which manufactures traffic safety products for construction sites, celebrated its expansion Thursday afternoon.
The business recently added more than 68,000 square feet onto its existing 102,000 square-foot production space.
Co-Owner Jack Kulp told KTVO the expansion comes with about 20 more jobs. Business is seasonal, so he's expecting that number to grow during the spring and summer months.
Kulp said he dreamed of building this business when he moved to Fairfield three decades ago.
"I said some day, this city will be the center of road safety production and it is today,” Kulp said. “We are the largest in the nation in terms of the products that we make to save lives and it's done right here in Fairfield."
The work is almost finished. Kulp is expecting construction to wrap up this week.
