Trial date set for accused Cinema X Theater murderer

Bruce Pollard Junior is charged with first degree murder

A new trial date has been set for an Ottumwa man facing a murder charge.



Bruce Pollard Jr., 26, is charged with first degree murder in connection with Kenneth McDaniel. Pollard remains in the Wapello County Jail. His bond is in excess of $1 million.



Pollard is now scheduled to stand trial beginning July 16.



He is charged with the death of McDaniel, whose body was found at the Cinema X Theater in downtown Ottumwa in March of last year.



Pollard, who had been arrested in connection with a series of robberies, was not charged in the murder case until May of last year. No trial date has been set yet for the robbery charges.
