Trial date set for Oskaloosa mother accused of killing toddler

Alicia Ritenour

An Oskaloosa mother accused of killing her baby will stand trial this summer.

A district court judge has set Alicia Ritenourâ??s trial for July 8.

The 20-year-old Ritenour was arrested earlier this month after Oskaloosa police found her 18-month-old daughter dead.

An autopsy revealed the child died from severe head trauma.

Ritenour was released from custody shortly after her arrest after posting a $125,000 bond.

Two days later her bond was raised to $500,000 and she was rearrested.

She is currently in custody despite her attempt last week to have her bond reduced.

Ritenour has pleaded not guilty.

If she is convicted of first degree murder, Alicia Ritenour faces a life sentence.
