Trial date set for Ottumwa father charged with possession

60-year-old Phillip Wayne Cave Sr. of Ottumwa

The elder half of a father-son duo charged with possession of marijuana will stand trial in March of 2014.

Online court records indicate that 60-year-old Phillip Wayne Cave Sr., of Ottumwa, will be in a Wapello County courtroom on March 10, 2014, to face one felony count of possession with intent to distribute.

Cave Sr. was originally scheduled for a January 2014 trial date

Cave Sr. and his son, Phillip Anthony Cave, were arrested in July after a search warrant was served at a residence in Ottumwa.

The search resulted in both Caves being charged with intent to distribute marijuana.

The case against the younger Cave has already been adjudicated. Cave Jr. pleaded guilty earlier this fall.

He received a five year sentence with credit for time served.
