Mon, 19 May 2014 22:24:02 GMT — An Ottumwa teen facing serious child molestation charges now has a trial date.However, whether that trial will be in a juvenile or adult court has yet to be decided. Kraigen Grooms, 17, entered a written not-guilty plea Monday. Grooms is charged with molesting a two-year-old child. Online court records indicate that Judge Richard Meadows set a trial date for October 7.However, the next stop for Grooms is a hearing on July 24. At that time, the court will hear a defense motion to have the trial moved to juvenile court.Grooms was arrested in March 2014, after evidence surfaced that he committed a sex act with a two-year-old child. There is apparently videotaped evidence of the crime.Grooms has remained in custody since his arrest on a $100,000 cash only bond.
