Truman band director gets a loud surprise at his door

Dan Peterson giving hugs after alumni band surprise him at his home

The band director at Truman State University celebrated 35 years.

On Friday hundreds of Dan Peterson's alumni band members from all over the U.S. came to Kirksville to surprise him at his home.

The band played a number or two while Peterson watched with a big smile!

Peterson has been serving as band director for the past 35 years, and continues to serce. Students over his 35 years of teaching came together for this big surprise.

Many of the band members are now band directors at various universities throughout the nation.

The big musical sound ended at Dukum Inn with Peterson's family, friends, and past students celebrating his 35 years.

KTVO would like to wish a great 35 years and counting to Dan, and well wishes in your future.
