Truman State University Police and Kirksville Police Department are still looking for a male subject reported to have a gun.
Sometime during the 9 o'clock hour Saturday night, a mass text message was sent out to students stating there is "no reason to believe there is immediate danger," however, the message did advise everyone to stay inside until further notice.
After looking into the situation, we just spoke with Chief Tom Johnson with the Truman State University Police around 11 p.m. Saturday night. He tells our Justin Andrews that Truman is no longer on lock down, and they have lifted it.
He says they will continue to have officers patrolling the campus overnight and throughout Sunday morning.
Police say the reported man was an Asian male wearing a white leather jacket, dark jeans and is about 5'8''. At last check, no one was in custody.
Again, Chief Johnson says there is NO immediate danger to the public or students.
We'll stay on top of this and bring you the latest.
