Truman State University's Nursing Association and Rural Public Health students are encouraging citizens to get tested next Tuesday, February 25. The students will reserve the Student Union Building Georgian rooms for free HIV/STI testing. There will be no appointments needed for service and testing will take place from 1 p.m. - 5 p.m. One Nursing student says the testing is 100 percent confidential.
â??A lot of these STIâ??s don't have symptoms that people notice right away and can lead to further complications that can really affect people's futures and overall health and even though it's kind of uncomfortable, it's a completely non judgmental zone,â?? said Brittany Thompson.
HIV results will be available within one hour of testing and other STI results are expected to be available at the Student Health Center within three days. Click here for further information about HIV and other STIâ??s.
