The Truman State Art Gallery is gearing up for an annual fundraiser.
The 15th annual 'Friends of the Gallery' Fundraiser will be held on Friday. A $40 donation per person from those attending is encouraged as the donations will help the gallery to continue to operate and showcase pieces of art from both students and other area artists.
Betsy Tornatore, an art teacher with the Kirksville School District, has been selected as a guest speaker. Live music and food will be on hand, and celebratory attire is encouraged. The event is open to members of the Kirksville community of all ages.
"It's really great to see people in the community coming out and supporting the gallery. People on campus, people off campus, and faculty and staff and from all over," said Aaron Fine, Truman State Gallery Director.
The 'Friends of the Gallery' Fundraiser will be held Friday beginning at 6:30pm. The event will take place in the art gallery at Truman State located in Ophelia Parrish Hall.
