Two behind bars following Ottumwa stabbing incidents
Two separate stabbing incidents in Ottumwa have led to two arrests.
On Friday afternoon, the Ottumwa Police Department received notification from the Ottumwa Regional Health Center that a victim had arrived at the emergency room for treatment of multiple stab wounds.
The 33-year-old Ottumwa man had sustained two stab wounds to his torso and was airlifted to Iowa City for treatment of his injures.
As a result of the incident, Ottumwa Police arrested Amevi Nsougan, 30, of Ottumwa. Nsougan was charged with Domestic Abuse Assault, an Aggravated Misdemeanor, and Willful Injury, a Class C felony.
Nsougan remains in the Wapello County Jail with a bond amount of $12,000 cash only.
Early Sunday morning, OPD officers were dispatched to a location on West 5th Street on a report that a subject had been stabbed. It was determined that a 16-year-old male had sustained one stab wound to his abdomen. The teen was transported to the Ottumwa Regional Health Center where he was treated for his injuries.
Following the investigation of that incident, Ottumwa Police arrested Stephyne Reneae Stewart, 25, of Ottumwa. Stewart was charged with Willful Injury, a Class D felony.
Stewart remains in the Wapello County Jail with a bond amount of $5,000.
