Two drivers in the Heartland had run-ins with deer within seconds of each other.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol said the first of the two

car-versus-deer crashes happened at 12:40 p.m. Friday in the southbound lanes of Highway 63 about a mile north of La Plata.

An instant later, the second collision happened in the same location, only this time in the northbound lanes of 63.

Corporal Eric Brown told KTVO an Oldsmobile Alero struck two deer that were crossing the roadway, then a Mercury Grand Marquis hit a third deer.

The three people in the Mercury, all from Illinois, escaped injury.

The woman driving the Oldsmobile was from Higbee, Missouri.

Brown said she received some minor cuts on her face when the impact of the deer shattered her windshield.

The patrol did not release the names of those involved.
