Two hurt in motorcycle crash
OTTUMWA, Iowa —
An Ottumwa crash sent two drivers to the hospital Thursday morning.
Around 10:30 a.m., Ottumwa police officers were called to the 300 block of Church Street, where a Cadillac SUV had collided with a Harley-Davidson motorcycle.
Sgt. Steve Kovacs said it appears the motorcycle was traveling south on Church Street when the driver of the Cadillac pulled out of a parking lot into the motorcycle’s path.
Both drivers were immediately taken to the Ottumwa Regional Health Center.
Kovacs wouldn’t release details on their condition.
That section of Church Street was expected to be closed for at least a few hours.
Traffic was still given access to the alleys behind businesses on Church Street.
Because of the severity of the crash, Kovacs said the investigation was handed over to the Iowa State Patrol.
