Two injured after near collision with deer

An early morning crash involving a deer has sent two northeast Missouri women to the hospital.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the incident occurred at 5:30 a.m. Sunday on U.S. Highway 63 just south of Moberly.

The vehicle driven by Liticia Allen, 24 of Moberly, attempted to avoid a deer on the highway.

As a result, Allen lost control of the SUV, traveled off the west side of the roadway and over turned.

Allen received moderate injuries in the crash.

A passenger in the vehicle, Jennifer Fischer, 24, also of Moberly, sustained minor injuries.

Both women were transported by Randolph County Ambulance to Moberly Regional Hospital.
