Upcoming job fair to be held in Kirksville
KIRKSVILLE, Mo. —
Kirksville Regional Economic Development Incorporated, or K-REDI is gearing up to be a sponsor of the upcoming NEMO Job Fair.
That job fair is scheduled to be held on October 29th from 11 a.m. until 4 o'clock. Job seekers will have the opportunity to head out to the NEMO Fairgrounds on Illinois Street in Kirksville, and meet with over 50 possible employers.
K-REDI Executive Director Carolyn Chrisman told KTVO that she is hoping for a good turnout for this year's job fair. She adds that it is beneficial that people looking for employment attend as many job fairs as they possibly can.
"During the fair, a lot of them will take applications that day, some will interview that day," Chrisman said. "It is a great chance for people to go out and actually talk with the companies."
In addition to the job fair, K-REDI board members are also preparing to hear from Terry Maglich, of the Missouri Department of Economic Development. He will be speaking at their meeting on October 13th, and sharing ideas on how to measure success and how to bring new businesses to the city.
Chrisman adds that anyone interested in learning how K-REDI plans to better the city is welcome to attend that speaking event and meeting. The meeting will begin at 4 o'clock at the Economic Development Building on Franklin Street.
