V-Twin Vixens motorcycle group rides across southeast Iowa for International Female Ride Day

Saturday was International Female Ride Day. The V-Twin Vixens motorcycle group set off on a road trip across southeast Iowa in honor of the occasion.

The ride started at Ray's Longbranch in Drakesville and then the first stop was made at Chommy's in Eldon.

KTVO caught up with the group at the next stop at Uncle Buck's in Ottumwa.

The group then stopped at The Cellar Peanut Pub in Oskaloosa with the last stop at Scooter's in New Sharon.

Member Pamela Horn said the group formed to support an abundance of female motorcyclists in Southeast Iowa.

"And we thought it would be nice to form an organization where we could come to empower each other, inspire, motivate, and possibly ride with," said Horn. "And that's where we came up with this ride today. Today, May 3rd, is International Female Ride Day. So that's why nationwide there are women on their motorcycles celebrating."

Horn is rather new to motorcycles.

She transitioned from 14 years of riding a dirt bike to a street bike last year.
