Vintage Power Wagon Rally to roll into Fairfield this week
They say participants "come for the trucks and stay for the people".
The 26th annual Vintage Power Wagon Rally will be rolling into Fairfield this week. Events start with registration Wednesday, June 5 at 9 a.m. at the Jefferson County Fairgrounds.
The rally is a tradition that brings together vintage truck enthusiasts from Iowa and elsewhere, who get together to enjoy their passion for their vehicles and to spend time together.
"Camaraderie, the trucks and it's just like a big family, it's a big get-together," said Jens Butler, President of the Vintage Power Wagon Rally. "A lot of these folks, they've been bringing their kids since they were babies and now the kids are driving and they're into the trucks too now. It just keeps growing."
Some of the events this year you won't want to miss include the Mud Run at 10 a.m. June 5, the Moonlight Trail Ride starting at 8:30 p.m. June 6 and the Truck Pull at 7:30 on June 7.
Butler said they don't know yet how many people will be participating in the rally, but it seems to grow each year.
