Vision Awards to recognize local entrepreneurs

One Heartland college is getting ready to recognize entrepreneurship in Southeast, Iowa.

Indian Hills Community College will honor five people for what they have accomplished and continue to do in the 10-county region.

The school will be celebrating accomplishments in five separate categories: Business of the Year, New Business of the Year, Student Entrepreneur of the Year, Entreprenurial Educator of the Year and Alumni Entrepreneur of the Year.

"It's really your entrepreneurs that grow jobs in a community," Coordinator for Leadership and Economic Development Ashley Moyer said. "They're the ones that start new services, so job creation also for a variety of good and services in your area. It's important to have entrepreneurs and we just really wanna thank the people that are providing those services and our community."

The Vision Awards begin at 5p.m. on April 25 in The Hills Diner at Indian Hills Community College. Tickets are $49 per person, $175 for a table for four and $350 for a table of eight.
