Volunteers still needed for RAGBRAI beverage garden
Tue, 16 Jul 2013 01:16:35 GMT —
Volunteers are still needed in a number of areas before bicyclistâ??s stream through Fairfield for RAGBRAI on July 26th.
The beverage garden is one of the committees still seeking people to sign up to work one of the two shifts available, which run from 2 p.m. until midnight. Jobs include checking IDs, guarding the exits to make sure people don't come in and out with drinks, and also serving beverages to customers. The beverage garden will be set up on the east side of the Fairfield Square. Here people can use their tickets for some liquid refreshments, provided by Golden Eagle and Cedar Valley Winery. Non-alcoholic drinks are also available. The committee has around 100 volunteers so far, and they would ideally like 50 more people to help out during RAGBRAI.
â??The main thing is we really need a lot of help,â?? Alissa Doyle Ward, RAGBRAI Beverage Garden Chair said. â??That shift is the 7:30 p.m. to midnight shift, that's the shift we really need the most help with.â??
If you'd like to volunteer, training sessions will be held on Tuesday and Thursday at 5:30 p.m. at the Fairfield Arts and Convention Center in the Smith Meeting Room. You can sign up by calling Ward at 641-472-2141 or sending her an email at firstname.lastname@example.org
