The Ottumwa community is lacing up their running shoes to raise awareness for Alzheimerâ??s.
The annual Walk to End Alzheimerâ??s returns to the Heartland on September 13th.
Alzheimerâ??s is a deadly disease that kills more and more people each year.
The money raised at the walk will stay local and be put towards classes and support groups.
Those who are unable to attend the event are able to participate in other ways.
â??We have an online website that they can do a virtual walk with a team,â?? said Patti Hanna, Co-Chair of the event.
For more information on the virtual walk visit the Walk to End Alzheimerâ??s website.
Registration is currently available and will be accepted on the morning of the event at 9am.
The walk begins at 10am.
