Wapello Co. crews rescue woman, dog from rollover crash
NEAR BLAKESBURG, Iowa —
A woman and her dog survived a rollover crash in rural Wapello County Friday.
Around noon, Wapello County crews were called to the single-car accident on 87th Street.
Troopers with the Iowa State Patrol said the driver and her dog were trapped inside when they arrived.
Rescue officials freed the woman from her vehicle, and she was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The dog, named Chipper, appeared to be a little spooked at the scene, but is also OK.
Trooper Richard Diephuis told KTVO the driver was traveling east on 87th Street when she lost control of the vehicle and ran off the road.
The investigation is ongoing.
