The historic Wapello County Courthouse will be receiving a makeover.
At Tuesday's Board of Supervisors meeting, the board approved $139,000 worth of repairs for the courthouse.
Renovations were recently made to the inside of the courthouse.
These included replacing heating and airing units as well as painting several offices. New carpets were also installed.
The upcoming renovations will focus on the outside of the courthouse.
Tuckpointing will be a focal point.
"We are also going to be doing tuckpointing on the courthouse this summer," said Wapello County Auditor Kelly Spurgeon. "There's places where some of the stone is fallling off the outside so they're going to do some repairs on that."
Karr Tuckpointing out of Vinton, Iowa will handle the project.
The firm estimated the cost to make the repairs by inspecting the outside of the courthouse to see what improvements needed to be made.
It is unknown when the upcoming renovations will begin.
