Washington County, Iowa inmate found dead
WASHINGTON, Iowa —
Authorities are investigating the death of an inmate at the Washington County Jail.
Everette William Christner, 34, of North English, was found unresponsive around 11 a.m. Thursday.
Jail staffers attempted CPR, but they were unable to revive him.
Christner was pronounced dead by the Washington County Medical Examiner.
An autopsy has been scheduled for Monday.
The Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation will be assisting the Washington County Sheriff's Office with the investigation.
According to Iowa Courts Online, Christner was being held on a felony charge of Sex Offender Registration Violation, Second or Subsequent Offense.
