The celebration of 'The Week of the Young Child' came to an end Friday night in Kirksville.
The final event consisted of a family fun dance and a chance for kids to check out some city trucks. Dance go-ers took advantage of the beautiful evening and enjoyed a picnic supper before showing their moves on the dance floor.
City trucks could also be found in the parking lot of the Amphitheatre in Rotary Park. There, the youngsters could learn and explore the different equipment used to take of the city. They also had a chance to meet and ask questions to city workers such as firefighters. The event was something that all members of the family could enjoy.
"This is a great way to wrap up our week of 'The Young Child' celebration. Tonight we are down here at Rotary Park, we're touching trucks that belong to the city of Kirksville and we are having a family dance in the Amphitheater. We've had a great week, and it's a great way to end it," said Robin Harden, Kirksville Recreation Specialist.
