It was Wild Turkey Day at the Shrine Club in Kirksville.
Saturday was the 33rd annual Wild Turkey and Fun Day. It was a day of fun for youth in our area where they took a shot at aiming rifles and shooting a bow and arrow.
Organizers tell us they were expecting anywhere from 50-60 kids.
Jerry Gillum, the Chairman at the Shrine Club, tells us having youth involved is great.
"Learn how to handle the gun or handle a gun or bow and arrow," Gillum said. "They'll get the experience with that. We've go a seminar for the kids. The conservation is going to put it on, gun safety, hunting ethics as well.
Saturday's event had many sponsors including the Northeast Regional Medical Center. Kids enjoyed a variety of events and contests. There was also a grand supper to end the night.
