A northeast Missouri woman is behind bars after an altercation with her neighbor.
Cheryl Moots, 24, of Kirksville is charged with first degree burglary.
According to police reports, Kirksville police were dispatched to a residence on Osteopathy regarding a report of assault. The victim said that Moots came over to the residence and punched her in the face several times. The victim also told officers the two argued in the past and Moots was kicked out of the residence.
When officers contacted Moots, she told them she went over to the residence to get some of her kid's toys, and didn't know that the victim was there. The two got into an argument and then into a physical altercation.
Moots was taken into custody following the alleged incident, she's now at the Adair County Detention Center on a $50,000 cash only bond.
