If you are someone who is interested in planting your own garden this spring and summer but don't know where to start...here's your answer.
This Wednesday, April 10, from 6-8:30 p.m. at the Putnam High School Library in Unionville, The University of Missouri Adair County Extension and Putnam County Memorial Hospital are holding a Beginner Gardeners Workshop.
"I'm going to be covering everything from soil preparation on how to get the soil ready. Also plant selection, how to select cold season and warm season plants and when to plant them, growing herbs, maintenance of a garden, weed control, watering, fertilizing. Just general care of a garden," said Jennifer Schutter of The University of Missouri Adair County Extension.
The program is made possible by a Healthy Lifestyles Grant the hospital received from The University of Missouri.
If you would like to participate and sign up for Wednesday's workshop, contact Natalie Hunt at Putnam County Memorial Hospital 660-947-2411 ext: 2226 or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
