Family of man killed while riding bike to work encourages others to become organ donors

The family of a 21-year-old man who was killed one year ago while riding his bike to work is encouraging others to become organ donors just like Robert Esparza.

They spoke out during a "ghost bike" ceremony for Esparza.

After his untimely death, Esparza gave the gift of life to at least four people and donated tissue to 13 others.

"There's a person in Seattle who got his heart, three people in Oregon got two kidneys and his liver, three people had their vision restored… I got a letter from Ohio from a lady who got her knee replaced... she likes riding horses and being active, and she's active again because of that," Esparza's father Simon said.
