Four Missouri football players make the 2014 Preseason All-SEC Team

Missouri Football was represented by four Tigers on the 2014 Preseason All-SEC Team, picked by media annually at the conference's media days held at the Hyatt Regency - Wynfrey Hotel. Senior DE Markus Golden was voted to the second team on the defensive line to lead head coach Gary Pinkel's squad.

Golden was a force in the defensive trenches for Mizzou last season, leading the defensive end unit in tackles (55) while only playing in roughly 40 percent of the snaps. Golden accumulated 13.0 tackles-for-loss, 6.5 sacks and eight QB pressures as a junior in 2013.

The Tigers saw junior C Evan Boehm junior PK Andrew Baggett and senior TB Marcus Murphy picked to the third team. Boehm started all 14 games at center last season, helping Mizzou's rushing offense (237.9 yards per game) finish ranked second in the SEC and 16th nationally.

Baggett led Mizzou with 120 points last season, which is the fourth-highest single-season total in school history.

He booted accurately throughout 2013, hitting 18-of-25 field goal attempts and 66-of-69 PATs.

Picked as a return specialist, Murphy has 17 career touchdowns scored four different ways: rushing (12), kickoff return (3), punt return (1) and receiving (1). His 3,191 career all-purpose yards ranks eighth all-time in program history entering his senior season.

The Tigers kick off the 2014 season at Memorial Stadium/Faurot Field vs. South Dakota State at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 30.

The game will be televised nationally on ESPNU.
