The 2014-15 basketball schedule for Indian Hills has the Warriors playing 21 of their 30 regular-season games at home.
The schedule features plenty of challenges for IHCC, which finished 34-3 a year ago and was the runner-up at the national tournament.
The Warriors won all 24 home contests last year, including three in the postseason, and are 60-1 on their home court over the past three seasons.
Teams from eight different states will visit the Hellyer Center this season in a schedule that includes a number of teams that will be making their first-ever trip to Ottumwa.
Two squads that joined Indian Hills in last yearâ??s national tourney field, South Plains College from Texas, the NJCAA national champion in 2012, and State Fair (Mo.), are headed to play at IHCC this season.
The campaign will begin with a game against another Texas school, Lee College, on Friday, Nov. 7, as part of the season-opening Jack Blackwell Tire Classic. The Warriors will play Shawnee (Ill.) CC the following night.
Those matchups begin a string of six consecutive home encounters to start the year before Indian Hills has its first road trip, three games in four nights in Arizona.
The opponents there will include Mesa CC, Central Arizona and Phoenix College, the defending NJCAA Division II national champs.
IHCC has defeated Mesa each of the last two seasons and lost at Central Arizona in their last trip to the desert, one of only four losses two seasons ago.
Indian Hills will meet DMACC in a home contest on Dec. 13, the first meeting between the schools since 2010-11.
Four days after that game the Warriors and Mineral Area (Mo.) will square off at the University of Oklahomaâ??s Lloyd Noble Arena in Norman, Okla. to close out the first half of the season.
The eight-game conference slate begins Jan. 10 at home against Iowa Western and includes three weeknight league games.
The schedule for the upcoming season can be viewed at www.indianhills.edu/athletics.
Season tickets for the Warriorsâ?? 21 homes games will go on sale on Tues., Sept. 2, in the IHCC Athletic Office in the Hellyer Center.
They are $105 each if purchased in September. After that, a season ticket will cost $126.
