WHAT'S AT STAKE
A win puts Iowa at 2-0 in the Big Ten ahead of a bye week and a date at league favorite Ohio State. The Spartans are coming off a loss at Notre Dame, but they could have easily won that game.
Michigan State's front seven vs. Iowa RB Mark Weisman:
The Spartans are second in the nation in rushing yards allowed per game, while Weisman leads the nation in carries.
Iowa will send Weisman right at the Spartans, and whoever wins that matchup will likely win the game.
PLAYERS TO WATCH
Michigan State. QB Connor Cook. The way to beat the Hawkeyes will likely be through the air.
But Cook doesn't have much experience, and conditions aren't expected to do either passing game any favors.
Iowa: RB Damon Bullock.
He's supposed to be a change of pace back for the Hawkeyes, but they've found it hard to stray away from Weisman. Perhaps this is the week Bullock breaks out.
