Jason Priest of Truman State named all-Region
For the third straight season, the Truman Baseball team has had a honoree on an all-Region team with senior Jason Priest earning First Team honors for the Midwest region by the Amercian Baseball Coaches Association.
Priest joins Paul Trenhaile (2015), Kent Frantz (2015) and Nick Agliolo (2016) to earn all-region accolades over the past three seasons and 13th player in Bulldog history named all-region.
The third baseman was in the top 50 in Division II batting with a .398 average and second in the Great Lakes Valley Conference.
That mark was the fifth highest single-season batting average in school history and he hit .467 with runners on bases and .491 with runners in scoring position.
Priest had 68 hits in 171 at bats, nine home runs, 15 doubles and 47 runs batted in, three off the school mark of 50.
The ABCA/Rawlings All-Region and All-America teams are selected by member coaches.
